In keeping up with the recent Olympic chatter, we learned that fashionably outspoken Japanese snowboarder Kazuhiro Kokubo received quite a bit of back lash for his lack of proper attire.

Compared to his more conservative teammates, Kokubo has apparently turned his team suit into what some believe is reminiscent of hip-hop fashion with sagging pants, a loosened tie and messy, untucked shirt. Not only that, reports have him quoted as saying the Olympic games are “nothing special” and “just another snowboarding event.” Ouch!

The Japanese Olympic Committee secretary general said it is not the way the 21-year-old competitor should dress especially while taxpayers’ money is spent on him. Because of his unsuitable (hah, get it?) fashion statement, Kokubo was reportedly banned from a welcoming party.

Hello! You have the amazing opportunity to compete at this year’s most prestigious event; something many contenders spend a lifetime training for. And you’re there for free! Why not just go with the flow? He should be proud to attend.

What do you think? Should Kokubo have to apologize? Is he being disrespectful?

To Double Cork or NOT ?

Shawn White Double Cork

The Olympics are here are Snowboarders have been killing themselves (almost) training. The trick to master, the Double Cork, has created mad controversy. It’s such a dangerous trick that some athletes have requested that it be banned from the Olympics.

Shawn White was the first to throw this trick but he had the advantage of practicing on his private half pipe set up with foam pits for protection. Not all have this opportunity. Olympic hopeful Kevin Pearce was seriously injured while practicing this trick a couple months back. He is still recovering in a Denver hospital.

There are many opinions about this. Some believe that this is apart of the progression of the sport. “When one person is pushing the limits, that creates a pathway for others to follow and keep pushing,” said Torah Bright, the Australian halfpipe rider. And others beleive it’s pushing athletes over their limits. “The fact that you get more points the higher you go is asking these young, fearless, athletes to do things that are probably not best for them,” saidChristine Brennan, a columnist with USA Today.

Noah Cyrus Oh La La Couture

I see London, I see France I see Miley’s little sister’s underpants!

Noah Cyrus age 9 is the face of new kidi lingerie line Ooh! La, La! Couture.

The Companies press release describes the children’s line as including “versatile styles that can be worn with sweet ballerina slippers, funky sneakers or paired with lace stockings and boots for more of a rock and roll look.”

Oh La La Couture

To me they look like outfits from Madonna’s closet Circa 1986. It’s a little too much for the age. She’s on her way to pole dancing and sex vids before highschool. Awesome role models, Great Job!
