Japanese Olympic Snowboarder Makes His Fashion Statement

In keeping up with the recent Olympic chatter, we learned that fashionably outspoken Japanese snowboarder Kazuhiro Kokubo received quite a bit of back lash for his lack of proper attire.

Compared to his more conservative teammates, Kokubo has apparently turned his team suit into what some believe is reminiscent of hip-hop fashion with sagging pants, a loosened tie and messy, untucked shirt. Not only that, reports have him quoted as saying the Olympic games are “nothing special” and “just another snowboarding event.” Ouch!

The Japanese Olympic Committee secretary general said it is not the way the 21-year-old competitor should dress especially while taxpayers’ money is spent on him. Because of his unsuitable (hah, get it?) fashion statement, Kokubo was reportedly banned from a welcoming party.

Hello! You have the amazing opportunity to compete at this year’s most prestigious event; something many contenders spend a lifetime training for. And you’re there for free! Why not just go with the flow? He should be proud to attend.

The Companies press release describes the children’s line as including “versatile styles that can be worn with sweet ballerina slippers, funky sneakers or paired with lace stockings and boots for more of a rock and roll look.”

To me they look like outfits from Madonna’s closet Circa 1986. It’s a little too much for the age. She’s on her way to pole dancing and sex vids before highschool. Awesome role models, Great Job!
